The estate dates back to 1585 and has been producing wine on the property since the early 17th century. In the 1855 classification the Chateau was awarded Third Growth status.
Dark garnet colour with brick tints, dark and rather dense, opaque and brilliant. Roasted, woody nose with warm wood and caramel, hints of nutmeg and camphor. Velvety attack, long, fat and satiny tannins, very nice substance, rich, full-bodied, sapid. Balanced finish, satiny, full-bodied, nice character on black fruits and spices, very nice balance, very nice length, still young but very promising, nice notes of tobacco.
