The colour is intense purple red with ruby-red nuances. On the nose fruity (fruits of the forest, such as raspberry and blackcurrants), spicy (pepper, wild herbs and tobacco). On the palate a good attack with a clear identity of the grape varieties. The wine is intrinsically elegant and natural freshness evolving in a silky finish.
Haiku originated in 2009 with the acquisition of the Montebuoni vineyard, whose replanting was completed in 2001.
This standout wine is a blend of three varieties: 50% Sangiovese, with the remainder divided in equal measure between Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
The name is inspired by the traditional Japanese verse in three phrases, whose power lies in allusions to nature and which requires clear thinking and imagination. Haiku is a powerful wine, initially supple before impressing with its audacity, substance and refinement.
